Description
Respectful barefoot footwear from the Spanish brand Zapato Feroz, designed following the guidance of pediatric podiatrists. These models allow babies to enjoy the sensation of walking barefoot in their daily life.
Foot type: Ideal for medium or low insteps. May not work well for high insteps due to limited opening and adjustment capacity.
Materials:
- Upper: Breathable technical fabric (lycra) combined with microfiber that mimics natural leather while being more resistant to daily play. Soft, lightweight, breathable, quick-drying, easy to clean and certified with Oeko-Tex® Standard 100 class I.
- Lining: Micro-perforated technical fabric for increased breathability and faster drying. Suitable for year-round use.
- Insole: Lightweight, flexible and seamless. Made with breathable micro-perforated technical fabric and foam with activated charcoal to prevent bacteria and bad odour. Keeps feet dry for longer. Removable and washable.
- Sole: Natural rubber, highly flexible and non-slip. Minimal thickness reduces impact without losing ground contact. Natural rubber produces less waste and is more sustainable.
Features:
- Natural foot shape with a wide toe box for free toe movement.
- Straight shape with 0° big-toe adduction.
- Flat, thin (3.5 mm) and flexible sole, improving ground feedback.
- Flat, removable insole with no elevations, providing protection and reducing moisture.
- Elastic laces and a velcro strap to assist with putting on and adjusting the shoe.
- Rubber toe cap, heel tab and velcro for increased durability and easy cleaning.

It’s still important to prioritise barefoot time whenever possible, but barefoot shoes become more essential as children get more active. In the first six months, the ideal models are the most minimalist ones, almost like a “second skin,” so the child has maximum freedom of movement without restriction. They can be used as long as the size is available.
