Barefoot footwear from the Spanish brand Zapato Feroz, designed according to paediatric podiatrists’ guidelines. These models stand out for allowing babies to enjoy the feeling of walking barefoot in their daily lives.

Foot type
Suitable for all instep heights. The velcro fastening makes the model versatile. Regarding width, measurements should be compared with the size guide to ensure a clearance between 3 and 7mm.

Materials
Upper made of lightweight microfibre nubuck fabric that reproduces the characteristics of natural leather. It has a soft feel and is lightweight, durable, flexible and breathable. It dries quickly and is easy to clean. It holds the V-Level certification from the European Vegetarian Union in the vegan category. The difference between standard microfibre and nubuck microfibre is only in the finish, with standard microfibre being more satin-like and nubuck having a more velvety, matte finish for added softness.
Lining made of technical fabric in both the interior and insoles, designed to keep the foot dry for longer by drawing moisture to the outside of the shoe. OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 ecological certification.
Insole made with breathable materials thanks to micro-perforated technical fabric and foam support with activated charcoal, helping to prevent sweat bacteria that cause odour. Keeps the foot dry for longer. Removable and washable. OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 certification.
Outsole made of rubber, highly flexible and non-slip. Designed for confident and safe adventures. Minimal thickness reduces impact while maintaining ground contact. Natural rubber generates less waste due to its reusability during manufacturing, making it more sustainable and environmentally friendly.

First Steps
When babies start taking steps without support. They should spend most of the time barefoot or in non-slip socks. The first shoes are needed once they start walking outdoors, to provide protection. They should be barefoot and minimalist to recreate the feeling of “being barefoot,” with a wide toe box for free toes, flexibility for natural movement, and a thin sole for sensory feedback and adaptation.
Up & Go
The first year when the child learns to master walking and balance. It’s still important to prioritise barefoot time whenever possible, but barefoot shoes become more essential as children get more active. In the first six months, the ideal models are the most minimalist ones, almost like a “second skin,” so the child has maximum freedom of movement without restriction. They can be used as long as the size is available.

Choose the size that leaves 0.8 to 1.2 cm of space (the maximum for comfort and longer wear).
Each size can be worn respectfully until there is only 0.5 cm left, and it’s considered too small when it’s below that.
