Description
Barefoot footwear from the Portuguese brand Mukishoes. It was the first in the country to offer this type of footwear for adults and junior children, and now also for babies in the First Steps and Up & Go stages.
They stand out for being very minimalistic, with an extra thin sole (only 1.5mm). They are lightweight, highly flexible, with a wide toe box that allows feet to grow healthily. The toes can stretch and move freely, also contributing to the development of a strong support base. They use natural and sustainable materials sourced in Portugal, in order to eliminate the unnecessary use of plastics or foams that currently dominate the footwear industry.
The Mini Sésamo model is made of felted wool from the Serra da Estrela mountains, with a multicoloured checked cotton flannel lining and a natural rubber sole with a thickness of 1.5mm.
Each shoe is handmade with natural materials and ecologically dyed, so small variations in colours and finishes are possible.

First Steps
When babies start taking steps without support. They should spend most of the time barefoot or in non-slip socks. The first shoes are needed once they start walking outdoors, to provide protection. They should be barefoot and minimalist to recreate the feeling of “being barefoot,” with a wide toe box for free toes, flexibility for natural movement, and a thin sole for sensory feedback and adaptation.
Up & Go
The first year when the child learns to master walking and balance. It’s still important to prioritise barefoot time whenever possible, but barefoot shoes become more essential as children get more active. In the first six months, the ideal models are the most minimalist ones, almost like a “second skin,” so the child has maximum freedom of movement without restriction. They can be used as long as the size is available.

Shipments
The entire process, from packaging to delivery, can take between 3 and 7 days in mainland Portugal. The service is operated by DPD: - For the address, it is usually delivered between 1 to 2 business days after dispatch; - For pick-up points, delivery is made on the next business day after dispatch, on average. For the Azores and Madeira, the service is operated by CTT Exp

Shoes are only respectful if worn in the right size. To ensure this, you should measure the feet:

Choose the size that leaves 0.8 to 1.2 cm of space (the maximum for comfort and longer wear).
Each size can be worn respectfully until there is only 0.5 cm left, and it’s considered too small when it’s below that.
